Presented at Baselworld 2013, Dior’s handsome Chiffre Rouge collection has been enriched with a new black timekeeper complete with a moonphase complication, and powered by a movement by Zenith.
The 42mm watch has a brushed stainless steel case. The anti-reflective sapphire crystal glass is matched by a translucent black sapphire crystal case-back with the limited edition number engraved on it.The black-lacquered dial features the moon phase indicator hovering just above 6 o’clock. The small second subdial is in subtle relief against the black of the dial and is positioned at 9 o’clock. Indices are in a subdued grey to keep the dial as clean and uncluttered as possible. The eye catching date is displayed in red between 1 and 2 o’clock. The screwed crown is adorned with a guilloché pattern for extra grip together with a red lacquered circle.
The watch is powered by the automatic Elite 691 calibre by Zenith beating at 28 800 vibrations per hour. It shows hours, minutes, big date, moon phase and small second hours, and ensures 50 hours of power reserve. Its black lacquered oscillating weight bears the engraving “DIOR HOMME CALIBRE ZENITH 691”.
The Chiffre Rouge C03 comes on a handmade semi-matte black alligator strap with a brushed stainless steel prong buckle engraved with “DIOR HOMME”. Just 100 pieces of the watch will be available.
