Ci sono tre nuove versioni: in oro rosa; in oro bianco con lunetta diamanti e la versione Haute Jewellery che ha 2 mm in più di spessore, comunque un record per un orologio Haute Jewellery.
We wrote about Piaget's Altiplano 38 mm 900P last December. The focus was on the white gold version with black-coated movement.
During the Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie 2014 held in Geneva last January, Piaget presented three more versions of the world’s thinnest mechanical watch: a pink gold version (ref. G0A39110), a white gold version with a diamond set bezel (ref. G0A39112), and a Haute Jewellery version (ref. G0A39120). Merging the hand-wound calibre with the case elements (the back case serves as the mainplate), the Altiplano 900P is designed as a single entity in order to achieve record-breaking slenderness at just 3.65 mm thin.
The pink gold version has sunburst satin-brushed bridges with sunburst or circular satin-brushed wheels and slate grey-coloured screws which create a nice contrast with the black off-centred dial.
Then, there is a white gold version with a diamond set bezel featuring sunburst satin-brushed bridges with sunburst or circular satin-brushed wheels, slate grey-coloured screws and a black off-centred dial. This model maintains the 3.65 mm thickness.
The last one, named Altiplano 38mm 900P Haute Jewellery, blends fine watchmaking and haute joaillerie. Setting a watch is a demanding art involving a number of constraints but setting an ultra-thin watch like this is even more challenging. In fact, an ultra-thin watch allows only infinitely small tolerances in preserving the volume of its lines and that of its case. The extreme thinness of the material leaves very little space for setting the stones.
The case is set with 38 baguette-cut diamonds (approx. 1.36 cts) and 267 brilliant-cut diamonds (approx. 1.86 cts). On the dial, 33 baguette-cut diamonds (approx. 1.41 cts) form the chapter ring. Even the triple folding clasp is set with 23 brilliant-cut diamonds (approx. 0.05 ct).
This jewellery version of the Altiplano 900P, totalling 4.71 carats, sets a new record for slenderness, since it is the world’s thinnest Haute Joaillerie watch at just 5.65 mm thick.

Un orologio pieno di contraddizioni ma che, forse proprio per questo, mi piace un sacco (parlo dell'oro rosa).

Intendi che lo vorresti a destra per facilitare la lettura dell'ora quando l'orologio è parzialmente coperto dal polsino?
In questo caso credo che ci siano precise problematiche di organizzazione dei ruotismi ad impedire un posizionamento diverso del quadrante ore/minuti.. -

L'unica problematica che c'è è che sarebbe aumentato di pochissimo, pochissimo, lo spessore. Ma ne sarebbe valsa la pena per correggere uno dei tanti difetti di questo orologio.. -
