A Baselworld 2014 preview, the Maurice Lacroix Masterpiece Gravity gives prominent display to the balance wheel, the real protagonist of the dial.
The 43 mm case houses the Maurice Lacroix automatic manufacture Calibre ML230 beating at 2.5Hz (18,000 vph), a frequency that appears to be better suited for silicium as it proves gentler to the glass-like substance than those experienced in some higher oscillating movements. The movement, visible through the sapphire crystal case back, offers a power reserve of 50 hours.
The balance staff, pallet lever, escapement wheel and escapement wheel pinion are all made in silicium, a self-lubricating, glass-like material which is three times lighter than steel. The low mass consumes less energy, is more accurate and does not require regular lubrication.
The Maurice Lacroix Masterpiece Gravity is available in two versions: Classical in stainless steel (ref. MP6118-SS001-110) and Contemporary in an anthracite PVD finish (ref. MP6118-PVB01-130).
An off-centre hours and minutes display features a white lacquered dial which is domed at its centre and retained with two mirror-polished screws. It includes Roman numerals on the Classical model and diamond cut indexes on the Contemporary model. The hours and minutes hands are thermally blued or rhodium plated dependent on the model selected.
The Masterpiece Gravity is water resistant to 50 metres.

Davvero molto bello, giovedì sono passato da un concessionario per vedere qualche modello di questa maison che non conoscevo molto e devo dire che propone dei modelli davvero piacevoli... . -
