Products can always be perfected. The latest timepiece from Richard Mille confirms the assertion.
The brand based in Les Breuleux, not far from the watchmaking centers of Le Locle and La Chaux-de Fonds, introduced its first case in pure sapphire three years ago with the RM 056 Sapphire Tourbillon Split Seconds Chronograph. It was certainly a great technical achievement, especially considering the complexity of both case and movement. With its evolution, the RM 56-01, Richard Mille raised the bar by adding baseplate, bridges and third wheel in sapphire.
The new Richard Mille Tourbillon RM56-02 Sapphire, created for the 2014 Edition of the Watches & Wonders Exhibition (Hong Kong, 30 September - 2 October), surprises again by incorporating the cable suspended movement originally developed for the RM 27-01 Rafael Nadal. The mix of transparency, lightness and intricacy of the movement creates a breathtaking result.
The baseplate of the RM56-02, created from grade 5 titanium, is entirely suspended within the sapphire watchcase by specially developed single braided cable of only 0.35mm thickness, woven within a system of 4 pulleys on posts at the movement’s corners and another 6 pulleys placed along the movement’s periphery.
The tension of the cable is controlled by a miniature ratchet at 9 o’clock. This entire cable unit is attached to a separate indicator located below 12 o’clock that helps to visually inspect the cable tension to ensure that it is operating within the designated norms.
Use of sapphire has been further extended to the winding barrel bridge as well as to the tourbillon and centre bridges.
Sapphire has a very high hardness of 1800 Vickers making this watch virtually scratch resistant by materials other than diamond. The three parts of the case of the RM 56-02 are milled and ground from blocks of solid sapphire, a task whose difficulty can be understood by just considering that 40 days of continuous, uninterrupted, machining are required in order to produce one case followed by 400 hours of machining and finishing for the different movement bridges.
The case is waterproof to 30 metres and it is secured to the wrist by a silky and highly comfortable translucent strap.
The Richard Mille Tourbillon RM56-02 Sapphire is a limited edition of 10 pieces worldwide. The price of this exclusive marvel is about Euro 1,450,000 before applicable taxes.

Impressionante Design, tecnica e …prezzo 
Sul diametro non mi pronuncio perché è troppo grande a priori.
Orologio inarrivabile o quasi anche per un calciatore di serie A. -

nonostante la tecnica sicuramente elevata....orologio che non prenderei in considerazione anche nell'eventualità di poter spendere un simile capitale

Ovviamente chi se lo compra, non avrà questi problemi, ma immaginate di dover pagare la sola revisione di quest'orologio...

Siamo seri dai........
Sono orologi che non vedrete mai, orologi che probabilmente neanche funzionano o che hanno un mare di problemi. Orologi che mai nessuno saprà riparare o mettere a punto.
Chi li compra (qualcuno comunque c'è sempre) li terrà per esposizione nel suo armadio blindato per stupire gli ospiti e se ne guarderà bene dal dire che non vanno (altrimenti sembrerà ancora più fesso).
Posso solo ammettere che esteticamente, se solo fossero più piccoli e discreti, tutte quelle trasparenze un certo fascino ce l'hanno.....
Con 1,5 Milioni ci esce una supercollezione di pezzi stratosferici, probablmente molti dei più belli e storici orologi da polso mai prodotti, non scherziamo....... -

Per funzionare, funziona. La tecnologia è sostanzialmente la stessa impiegata per l'RM 27 indossato da Nadal, orologio che ho provato ed apprezzato molto per la leggerezza e l'ergonomia (pur non essendo particolarmente appassionato di Richard Mille).
Per quanto riguarda i prezzi, penso che risultino assurdi per la maggior parte di noi. Ma la realtà è che poi le case li vendono davvero e anche piuttosto in fretta. Va considerato che diversi di questi super orologi in edizioni ultra limitate vengono sviluppati e prodotti su commissione. In definitiva, sempre a spalle coperte.
Per il suo Grand Complication (2 mln €), prodotto in soli sei esemplari, Lange ha ricevuto oltre 20 serie richieste di acquisto (dichiarazione di de Haas, responsabile sviluppo). Un singolo collezionista ha chiesto di poter acquistare tutte e sei le copie.. -

Pezzo RM Spettacolare!!!Concordo con il collezionista facoltoso in merito al Grand Complication di Lange, a fronte di sei pezzi prodotti c'è una richiesta 3 volte superiore...
Il pezzo è un'opera d'arte ed a livello commerciale funziona a meraviglia....
