The latest interpretation of the Freak model from Ulysse Nardin is inspired to deep ocean waters hence the name Blue Cruiser.
With its spectacular flying “Carrousel-Tourbillon” and Dual Ulysse escapement in silicon, this exciting new timepiece sports a deep blue for bezel, rotating lower bridge and rotating upper bridge.
The Blue Cruiser is designed so that the 4Hz (28,800 vph) movement revolves on itself. The rotating lower bridge indicates the hours, while the upper bridge, in the form of a skeletonized ship's anchor – bearing the gear train, the balance spring and the exclusive Dual Ulysse silicon escapement – shows the minutes.
Stripped of a crown and push-pieces, the Blue Cruiser is set using the rotating bezel, in both directions. A second bezel, on the back of the watch, is used to wind the barrel which delivers more than seven days of power reserve.
Available in white or rose gold, the Ulysse Nardin Blue Cruiser (ref. 2050-131/0) measures 45 mm in diameter and is matched to a blue or brown alligator strap with deployment clasp.
