.Interessante la soluzione della indicazione fase luna a richiesta. In pratica il disco che vedete sotto il IIII premendo il pulsante al 2 si posiziona rispetto all'apertura del tourbillon in modo da riprodurre la fase in cui si trova effettivamente la luna. A parte l'interessante soluzione, trovo insensata la scelta della misura della cassa (47mm!!!), fuori di testa il prezzo di oltre 200.000 Euro e pesante l'estetica del quadrante con una inutile rappresentazione in platino del globo terrestre. 
With the Cartier Rotonde de Cartier Earth Moon we have the fourth preview of Cartier models that will be showcased in January at the Salon International of Haute Horlogerie in Geneva.
This watch comes in a huge 47 mm platinum case - with a thickness of 16.65 mm - which frames the bright blue lapis lazuli dial enriched by the platinum grid created by the III, IIII, VIII and IX Roman numerals.
The moon-phase function has a pretty unique implementation. In fact, the phase of the moon is shown on demand when the user presses the push-piece at two o'clock: the lapis lazuli stone disc - acting as the shadow on the moon - moves out from its position, under the IIII Roman numeral, to cover the tourbillon aperture in a way that represents the same phase of the moon in the sky. By pressing the push-piece again the stone disc is brought back to its original position.
The other push-piece is used to set the second time zone indicated by the 24-hour rotating disc at 12 o'clock.
The open worked and rhodium-coated Calibre 9440 MC - the result of the collaboration between Cartier R&D and the renowned duo Renaud & Papi - is visible through the back-case sapphire crystal. It offers three days of power reserve.
Only 50 examples of the Rotonde de Cartier Earth Moon will be created. The price is expected to exceed US$ 275,000.

47 mm di pura follia! Peccato perché l'idea della luna a richiesta non era male.
Se queste misure sono davvero il trend attuale, prevedo che presto torneranno in auge gli orologi da tasca, perché siamo al limite della "impolsabilita'".. -

Calcolando che si tratti di un 47mm è veramente terribile. Trovo il quadrante, nel suo insieme, veramente brutto, non mi piacerebbe nemmeno se fosse un 40mm. Mi piace invece molto l'idea della luna che "oscuri" il turbillon a seconda della sua fase. . -

Geniale la soluzione della luna. In termini meccanici non c'è dubbio che Cartier cresca, grazie alla Kasapi e anche grazie a Renaud & Papi ( da cui la stessa Foster Kasapi ha lavorato e si è formata).
Però le dimensioni sono impossibili, siamo sinceri.. -
