Cassa 1950 in acciaio 44 mm.

The Luminor 1950 3 Days GMT 24H PAM 00531 is the new watch from Officine Panerai with GMT function designed for frequent travellers.

The watch enables the wearer to simultaneously read the local time and the time in a second timezone by means of an independent arrow-headed central hand which makes one revolution of the dial in 24 hours.

This is the first watch from Officine Panerai to adopt the new in-house automatic P.9003 calibre. A development of the P.9001 calibre, the main innovation of the P.003 calibre relates to the GMT function, which is indicated over 24 hours instead of 12 hours; it also features a newly designed circular power reserve indicator easily readable through the transparent caseback. The three days power reserve is delivered by two spring barrels connected in series.

The legibility of the dial, which also contains the date window and the small seconds counter at nine o’clock, is excellent even in the dark thanks to its sandwich structure: the luminous substance is contained between two discs and shines through holes in the upper one corresponding to the markers. This type of construction has been used by Panerai watches since the 1930s becoming a distinctive mark of the Florentine brand.

The 44 mm Luminor 1950 case is made of AISI 316L steel - a steel with a low carbon content and particularly resistant to corrosion - and it has a polished finish except for the brushed crown-protecting device.

Water-resistant to 300 metres, the Officine Panerai Luminor 1950 3 Days GMT 24H is fitted with a black leather strap with ecru stitching and supplied with a spare rubber strap, a steel screwdriver and the tool for replacing the strap, an operation that is made easy thanks to the push-pieces in the lugs.
